topomodoro — Android Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This policy covers the topomodoro Android application (app.topomodoro). The topomodoro operator can be contacted at hello@topomodoro.com. The website has a separate policy at https://topomodoro.com/privacy/.
1. Information on your device
The app stores your task titles and completion marks, completed timer history, timer progress, and preferences locally on your device. These are used to provide the timer, task list and calendar log. There is no account, advertising, analytics SDK or cloud synchronization in this version. The app does not upload these records to us or sell them. The app does not request Internet access.
2. Photos you choose
If you choose a personal background photo, Android's system document picker lets you select a specific image. The app keeps permission to read that selected image and a reference to it so the background can be restored. It does not request access to your entire photo library, modify the image or upload it. If you select an image through a cloud document provider, that provider may download it under its own privacy policy.
3. Reminders and permissions
Notification permission allows focus and break reminders. Alarms & reminders access allows precise timing while the phone sleeps. The app receives Android's boot-completed event to restore a running timer after the device restarts and is unlocked. You can change these permissions in Android Settings. Denying notification permission prevents background notifications; denying precise timing can delay them.
Reminder notifications show timer phase information, not your task titles. They may appear on the lock screen depending on your Android settings. The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts or location.
4. Sounds and fonts
Sounds are generated on the device. A read-only sound provider makes these synthetic notification tones available to Android's notification player. It does not expose your tasks, photos, preferences or log. Fonts and their licenses are bundled with the app; no external font service is contacted.
5. External links and contacting us
Opening our website or online privacy policy launches your browser. Cloudflare hosts the website and processes connection information needed to deliver and protect it, as described in the website privacy policy. These browser requests are separate from the offline Android app.
Contact opens your email app. If you email hello@topomodoro.com, your message and address are processed by our email providers and used to respond to you. Please avoid sending sensitive task content. We retain correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and applicable obligations. Contact us to request deletion of correspondence.
6. Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you edit or remove them, clear the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app. Clearing app storage removes the app's local timer, tasks, history, preferences and generated tones. Deleting app data does not delete your original photos or emails sent to us. There is no server copy of your task history to restore. Android cloud backup is disabled for this app; device-to-device transfer behavior can depend on the device manufacturer.
7. Your choices
You can edit or remove tasks using the task editor, change optional permissions in Android Settings, and clear all local data using Android Settings > Apps > topomodoro > Storage > Clear storage (wording varies by device). Since your task and timer data stays on your device, we cannot access it or restore it on your behalf.
8. Changes and questions
We will update this policy when the app's data practices change. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@topomodoro.com. The current online version is https://topomodoro.com/android-privacy/.
