A few things to know before you settle in.
How does topomodoro work?
Choose something to work on, then press play. Your spinning top keeps you company through a focus period. When focus ends, it slows and falls as you take a break.
What is a complete Pomodoro Timer?
By default, you focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute short break. After the fourth focus period, a 15-minute long break replaces the short break. Finishing that long break completes one full timer, marked with a tomato in your log.
Can I change the times and automatic starts?
Click the countdown to open Timer settings. Auto start breaks controls breaks after focus. Auto start focusing controls focus after a short break. Auto start next pomodoro timer controls a new group after the long break, and is off by default. Changes to duration apply to the next period; running and paused timers keep their remaining time.
Will it ring if I close the website or lock my device?
Keep this website open for sound and browser notifications. Browsers can suspend tabs when your device sleeps, and closing the tab stops web reminders. We cannot guarantee an on-time alert in those situations. The countdown catches up when you return, following your automatic-start settings, without replaying a queue of old sounds.
Browser notifications are optional and require permission. They do not turn the website into a background alarm service. A browser notification may also use the operating system's own sound.
Where are my tasks and logs saved?
On this browser, on this device. There is no account, cloud sync or automatic connection to the Android app. Clearing this site's browser data removes your tasks, timer settings and log. Private browsing may discard them when the window closes.
How do tasks and the calendar work?
Use the middle task button to add and check off today's tasks. A tomato appears on dates when you finish a full timer, including its final long break. Select a date in Log to see the tasks you marked complete that day. Task checkboxes are manual; finishing a timer does not check them for you.
How do I enter the minimal view?
Swipe down on the three-line handle above the controls, or click it with a mouse. In minimal view, only the scene, spinning top and time remain. Swipe up or click the bottom handle to bring the controls back.
Why is there no sound?
Click play or a sound preview to enable browser audio. Check your device volume and whether the browser tab is muted. Choose a completion sound in Settings; choose ambience using Sound. After reloading, you may need to interact with the page again to enable audio.
Can I use more than one tab?
One tab controls the timer at a time so you do not receive duplicate alerts. Other tabs show the saved state. Close the controlling tab to let another take over. Different browsers and devices have separate timers.
Is the web version free?
Yes. This version has no subscription, advertising or in-app purchases.
